The Beauty Struggle
Nearly every girl struggles with beauty, including Christians (including myself). They're too fat, too thin, their face is weird, their mouth is too big, next to her I look like a hag, etc. I think that it is because of self-centeredness, self-pity, "the grass is always greener on the other side". When you first think of beauty, you think outward appearance. And it sure can be! But the beauty that you should be concerned about, is beauty within.
[1 Peter 3:3-4 3 "Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— 4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God."]
[Philippians 4:8 "8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things."
Beauty comes from the heart, which is made visible in the things you do. Your attitude, they way you deal with people, and situations, and such.
Even if you are not considered beautiful by the worlds standards, you should remember Psalm 139:14 "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;[a]Marvelous are Your works,And that my soul knows very well."
[p.s. this also applies to guys, though perhaps the word you prefer is "handsom" ;)]
