An Artist
Have you ever heard the saying "God's paintbrush on display"? I've heard it used when taking in the beauty of the great outdoors, but also, a little while ago, I was listening to a talk by Louie Giglio (great guy, BTW). He talked about God's canvas, and I thought about it...
As an artist myself, it made sense to me to put it this way: we are like paintbrushes in God's hands, and He uses many different kinds of paintbrushes in different areas of His canvas. Each paintbrush sees only a small area that they're on, and to the paintbrush, it may not make much sense, or look that nice, or seem like it's not doing much/enough, but each of the small pieces are a part of the whole canvas, which only God can see, and He may use some dull or perhaps ugly colors that we don't like, and also many bright colors, and when they're all together, it becomes a beautiful picture.
Isaiah 55:8-9
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
